Forgiven & Fight Song Live
Jun 14th
As you know Paul Davis and I played some music to compete for an opening spot for Matt Maher. We made it. Here is a video of Fight Song and a video of Forgiven. Both of these songs are written by me. Forgiven happens to be my favorite song I’ve written so far. I put a recording of Fight Song up a while ago. I hope you enjoy them.

Jonathan Paul Combs
May 4th
Last night (February 3rd) a miracle happened. My second son was born at 8:10 PM. Named in honor of my grandfather and JPII, Jonathan Paul is 6 lbs. 13 oz. and 20 inches long. We spent a long day at the hospital awaiting his arrival. We are very blessed to have a health baby boy and a healthy mother. Thank you for all of the prayers and well wishes. They are very much appreciated!

This past weekend I was able to travel to Notre Dame Catholic High School in Toledo, OH and share my music and faith with some 8th graders. It was a fantastic weekend. I was also blessed to meet Kyle and Dan of Popple. They are two fantastic musicians and have some great stories of faith.
The weekend started with Popple playing some music and guiding us into a prayerful time. Later I was able to talk with the Confirmation students a little about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, share a little story and play some of my music. After that I had the opportunity to beat box with Popple. There is a first time for everything. Until this past weekend I was simply a closet beat boxer. There were very few people that have heard me do this like my wife and son. It was definitely a different experience and was very happy to make music with the guys from Popple. I had a blast. It was great to be able to meet some awesome musicians and spend time with students from around the Diocese of Toledo. You guys rock!

Adventures in Running Ragged!
Jul 22nd
The last few days and weeks of my life have been packed to the brim with activities. They have been extraordinary days but busy none the less. God has blessed my family with a well deserved vacation this week after the past few busy days. I just wanted to give you a brief update on our last few days.
Lets begin with Friday; We had a rehearsal for my brother’s wedding. Kassandra, my wife, and I were in the wedding party. We packed up our van with just about everything in our house (we have found out that as your child gets older you must take more things with you to keep them occupied) and headed to Toledo. We met at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (This is where Kassandra spent the last three years teaching second grade until the school was closed at the end of this school year) and entered under a swarm of bees. Evidentaly a group of bees decided to make home behind a statue of Mary outside of the church. The rehearsal went well and it was time for dinner. We had a full dinner including BBQ chicken, not the chicken with tomato based barbeque sauce but More >
Celebrate That Mass!
Apr 20th
In my third grade religion class we were talking about how the Mass is actually a celebration. I helped them to understand how we celebrate Mass by comparing it to a birthday Party.
First of all we never want to be late to a birthday party. You might miss all the fun. The same goes for Mass. If you are late you miss some great parts like the Penitential Rite where our venial sins are forgiven. If you are late, you miss out!
Whenever we go to a birthday party we know that the party is not about us. It is about the person who is turning one year older. We bring a present to the party to show our appreciation for that person. We don’t expect that person to bring us a present, granted sometimes we get those cool little bags with trinkets in them but not all the time.
A lot of times we have the wrong perception about going to Mass. Sometimes we expect to get something when we go to Mass. Like the little grab bags you will get some more knowledge and experience the Holy Spirit at Mass but it is wrong to expect getting something at Mass. More >
