Music

I have been working on a lot of new music. I hope to record my first album this fall. I will be posting lyrics to my songs on this page for you to read. I may even tell you a little about the inspiration behind them. All of the songs I write are based on personal experience or prayer. Some of the songs tell a story of something that has happened, tell about something I am going through or is simply a prayer. Enjoy what you read hear. I pray that it impacts you in some way.

A Clean Heart
We mess up, it’s going to happen. Many times we sweat the sins that we commit. I think that is good because it means we are aware of what we are doing wrong and we can change it. This song reminds me that no matter what we do through the Reign of Christ we are forgiven. Through Christ we can be forgiven and find our “Clean Heart” under all the dirt we pile on top of it.

Lying in bed tossing and turning; thinking of things that I have done.
Lying awake, tossing and turning; why can’t these things be undone?

Step outside in the the rainy night!

Sometimes the rain is all we need to find a clean heart inside.
Sometimes the storms come in but the thunderclouds just roll on by.
Even though we try to hide the dirt we keep inside,
Sometimes the rain is all we need to find a clean heart inside.

Lying awake, tossing and turing, why can’t this pain just go away?
Kneeling and praying, singing and praising; Won’t you send me the rain?

Step outside in the the rainy night!

Sometimes the rain is all we need to find a clean heart inside.
Sometimes the storms come in but the thunderclouds just roll on by.
Even though we try to hide the dirt we keep inside,
Sometimes the rain is all we need to find a clean heart inside.

All I Have
As of right now this is a simple mantra to remind me who I belong to. I am not mine, what I have is not mine and the gifts I have been given are not mine. All of me belongs to God, ALL of me.

What I have is Yours, I give it to you;
Sacrifice myself for what You want me to.
What I have is Your, every single gift;
Offered up to You for what Your word promises.

That Name
This song is a simple mantra of some of the names we call Jesus. It testifies to the fact that we can relate to Jesus and he relates to us in so many ways. This litany helps me to focus on Jesus and helps me to pray simply by calling Him by name.

Jesus, King of King, Jesus the Almighty
Jesus You are the Truth, Jesus, Jesus
Jesus Jesus Paschal Lamb, Jesus the Son of Man
Jesus Mighty God, Jesus, Jesus

Jesus Living One, Jesus God’s Own Son
Jesus the One True Light, Jesus, Jesus
Jesus The True Bread, Jesus New Covenant
Jesus Sovereign Lord, jesus, jesus

Jesus Living Word, Jesus the True Shepherd
Jesus the Great I AM, Jesus Jesus
Jesus Morning Star, Jesus Emanuel
Jesus Great High Priest, Jesus Jesus

You
This song was written while I was in either my freshman year of college or my senior year of high school. I was going through a deepening of faith and gaining my courage while writing this song. I am saying out loud what I know God is calling me to be. I am also asking for mercy because this is something we all need. Luckily God has plenty to go around.

It’s time for me to be what You want me to be;
Because I cannot hide what I feel inside, about You.
You are my world, You are my life.
You are my Savior, my eternal life.

So Please, please have mercy on me, ’cause I’m not worthy.
Please, please have mercy on me, won’t you send Your Spirit down, upon me.

I will try to me Your mouth and speak Your word.
Try to be your hands and do your work.
Help me to follow in your ways.
Help my lips to speak your name.

So Please, please have mercy on me, ’cause I’m not worthy.
Please, please have mercy on me, won’t you send Your Spirit down, upon me.
